Ocean Plastics Treatment

The PROPELWIND trimaran concept is used to create a mobile plastic recycling unit, operating in the middle of the multiple and huge floating plastic litter concentrations in the oceans such as the Great Pacific Garbage Patch.

The target is to operate without emissions, the trimaran being propelled by efficient wingsails, and the on-board power being supplied by a solar panels system. Sufficient quantity of green fuel is stored on board as back-up. Battery powered assistance vessels are used to collect the plastic from the drifting nets.

The PROPELWIND concept offers a unique vast floating plant space for the recycling system and raw material storage and for the crew accommodations.
